This morning at 8am EST we will be performing some scheduled maintenance on the Libsyn publishing system. During this time the publishing interface and FTP will be disabled. Once our service has been restored we will post an update here. During this maintenance none of the public facing components of libsyn (feeds, web pages and media files) will be effected.
Update 08:55 EST: The publishing is no longer in maintenance mode, however FTP is still disabled while we complete our regularly scheduled maintenance.
Update 09:34 EST: Our scheduled maintenance is now complete. All users should have full access to the publishing system and FTP servers and be able to post new content to Libsyn. Thank you for your patience and support of Libsyn while we work to improve our user’s experience.
We’d like to take a minute to thank our users for their continued support. As many of you have noticed, we’ve been working to transition all Libsyn podcasters to the new libsyn3 publishing platform. We’ve reached a benchmark in this process — as of 2/25/2011, we plan to discontinue the legacy Libsyn platform.
All accounts have been migrated to the new libsyn3 platform. You should have received a welcome email with information on logging into your account on the libsyn3 platform. We are looking forward to all of our producers enjoying the great features of libsyn3.
We have received numerous reports of specific tags in the RSS feeds not populating properly such as category and language. We have verified this issue and are currently working to get this rectified as soon as possible. Updates will be posted here as they come in.
UPDATE – 2/18/11 – 5 PM EST – The missing category field has been fixed
We received reports of intermittent login issues for a brief time period. This issue has been resolved, and all system features are now available. We apologize for any inconvenience the issue might have caused. Please email support@libsyn.com if you have any questions.

UPDATE: We have confirmed that archiving has now been rectified. Files that were previously not archived and should have been have now been archived. We thank you for your patience in this matter.
Starting at 9AM EST we will be disabling uploads for some planned maintenance. We will update this post once uploads are turned back on.
UPDATE – 10AM EST – Uploads are back on now.
We have received reports that episodes which had a future release date are not properly releasing causing the file that was associated with that post to throw a “404 error” meaning that the file was not found.
Our investigation up to this time has shown a bug in our system in that the episodes are partially releasing causing the error. We are working on this and will post an update once this issue is rectified. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in this matter.
As always, if you have any concerns, please contact support@libsyn.com and we will be happy to respond to you in a timely manner.
UPDATE: This was resolved at roughly 6PM EST yesterday.
We’ve received reports of intermittent uploading issues. Our team will work to address the issue as soon as possible, and we’ll post updates shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused. Please email support@libsyn.com if you have any questions.
Update 3:00pm EST. Our team at the datacenter is working on repairing hardware issues which are affecting uploads (and other various aspects of the publishing system intermittently) at this time. Other public facing aspects of libsyn are not affected at this time.
Update 4:00pm EST. The team has stabilized the hardware issue and web/ftp uploads are back to normal. We’ll keep an eye on things throughout the evening.
There continues to be intermittent upload/injection issues through this morning. Files appear to be uploading 100% from the libsyn publishing dashboard, however are failing to reach our CDN. We are working with them on the issue and fixing broken urls as quickly as we can. Will keep this post updated as work continues.
UPDATE: This issue was rectified as of early this afternoon, all uploads and injections should be working at this time. We thank you for your patience in this matter.
