Podcast Box iOS App: Reinstalling without Repurchasing
It may seem like the Podcast Box is making you purchase an app you already have, it actually isn’t. If you go ahead and confirm the purchase by logging into your iTunes account Apple will realize you have already purchased that app and will not charge you for it.
Apple remembers the purchases you have made, but unfortunately it takes you entering your password and accessing your account to purchase for Apple to recognize that the purchase is already there in your account. We are sorry for the confusing behavior on this but the good news is you won’t be charged twice.
Below is what you will see when trying to re-purchase an app. Notice screen grab 5 ; the message confirms that you have already purchased the app. The text reads in the message “You’ve already purchased this. Tap OK to download it again for free.”
So whether you accidentally deleted the Podcast Box app, had to reinstall it, or simply deleted a purchased app within the Podcast Box you can always go back and get the app without repurchasing it.
All iOS Apps: Downloading Episodes
If you have limits on your cellular data plan or want to listen to episodes when you are outside of cell range, the iOS app allows you to easily download episodes for later listening or viewing. Once you have opened the app and are looking at the episode list or an episode, you will notice each episode has a star.
Tap the star and the star will turn yellow. A circle will be drawn around the star indicating how much of the episode has been downloaded.
You can star multiple episodes at once. Your episode list will show all episodes that have been starred (you can also pick the stars in the episode list to request multiple episodes be downloaded quickly without having to enter each episode):
Once you have a list of episodes starred, you can choose the Starred tab to see only the starred episodes:
Done listening to the episode or want to remove it from the list? Tap the star again. You will be asked to confirm the episode be deleted from your device (you can download the episode again later if this is done by mistake).

All iOS Apps: Accessing Episode Extras
App Versions 1.14 and Up
Some show producers may provide their listeners with bonus content called extras. Sometimes these are extra shows, access to wallpaper for your device, documents that support the show, and more.
To access your show extras, open up your favorite app:
From here, you can see the button in the middle is called Extras. You can also access this while playing an episode:
Pressing the Extras button will show you the available options:
You can access Episode Specific Extras by clicking on the “e” you find on the episode screen:
The episode extras include bonus content that may be similar to the show extras, or may contain supporting content for that specific episode.
Prior Versions:
To view extras for the show:
- From the Episodes Tab (Left Tab), press the Extras button in the top right
- If the app version is 1.9.1 or later, the Show Extras will appear at the top of the list followed by “View All Extras”. Below the Show Extras are Settings for the app.
- If the app version is 1.9 or older, the Show Extras appear with a toggle at the top to swap to Episode Extras
To view extras for the episode:
- Navigate to the episode detail page, press the Extras button in the top right
- If the app version is 1.9.1 or later, the Episode Extras will appear at the top followed by “View All Extras”. As with the Show Extras, Settings for the app are below “View All Extras”
- If the app version is 1.9 or oder, the Episode Extras appear with a toggle at the top to swap to Show Extras
- If an audio episode is actively playing or currently paused, only Extras for that episode is available
View all Extras
View all Extras is available if the app version is 1.9.1 or later. This option will show available extras for all episodes in a single list.
MyLibsyn: Setting Up an Account
What is MyLibsyn?
MyLibsyn is a paid subscription service that allows a listener to obtain and access premium content easily across multiple devices including iOS, Android, and the web. Excited yet? This allows any listener to easily access back catalogs, bonus content, members only episodes, and so much more with a simple touch or click from literally anywhere.
How do I get started?
Go to http://my.libsyn.com in your web browser. A login page will appear with a signup form on the right hand side.
Enter your e-mail address and a password, read over the terms of service and agree to them then hit sign up. That’s it! Have questions? Contact us at consumer@libsynsupport.com.
MyLibsyn: Managing Your Account
How do I update my credit card information?
Start by logging into your MyLibsyn account. Once logged in, you will see a list of your current subscriptions as well as other shows you can sign up for.
Click on the subscription you wish to change which will open up the subscription details page. Click on the Update My Credit Card link found right under your current subscription details.
Enter your new billing information into the provided form and hit save.
How do I change my password?
When logged in, click on the
link along the top. Enter your current password, then enter and verify your new password. Once you are satisfied, hit the Save button.
What if I don’t remember my current password and cannot log in?
Click here to go to our forgotten password form.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Log into your MyLibsyn account. Once logged in, click on the subscription you wish to cancel from the subscription list.
Hit the Cancel Subscription link.
You will be asked to confirm your request. Once done, you may notice the subscription still appears – it will run its course of which you paid for and then fully close out automatically.

MyLibsyn: Subscribing to Premium Content
Start by visiting your favorite show’s blog page, click on either the “my” button or the red premium banner.
You can also click the premium link found on any premium episode.
You will be directed out to MyLibsyn. If you haven’t already, log into your MyLibsyn account and you will see the following page -
Enter in your payment information as requested, then hit save. If you already have payment information saved, you will see this instead –
Once you hit save, you can click the link found at the top and/or bottom of the pages as shown above and start playing locked content immediately. Note, the lock will still appear, but unlike prior to a subscription being setup you will be able to play the content as normal.

MyLibsyn: iOS App
To start, you should already have a MyLibsyn account setup and a current subscription to the show . Sign up by clicking here!
Once you have your subscription, go to your favorite iOS app, pick a locked episode and tap on it.
The episode details will open and you will see a green banner over top where the play button would be. Tap on the banner.
Hit the sign in button and enter your credentials.
The episodes will unlock. That’s it!
You will only need to repeat these steps if you log out of your MyLibsyn account from the app or you uninstall the app.

MyLibsyn: Android app
To start, you should already have a MyLibsyn account setup and a current subscription to the show . Click here to sign up today! Once you have a subscription setup, download the appropriate Android app for your show of choice.
Tap on a locked episode. The episode will open with a message that the episode is locked and you must have premium to unlock it.
Tap on the lock and a login screen will appear, enter your MyLibsyn username and password then hit Log Into MyLibsyn.
That’s it! Your episode list will unlock and you are off and running. You will only need to repeat these steps if you log out of your MyLibsyn account from the app or you uninstall the app.
