Wed, 26 July 2006 We apologize for the interruption in service this evening. While testing new features, we interfered with the main database. We have taken steps to ensure we can test these features in the future with no impact on service. Category: Media Delivery -- posted at: 12:45 AM Comments[6] |
Tue, 18 July 2006 Hi Everyone, We wanted to take a minute to give you all a heads up about the state of the libsyn network. Your programs continue to grow and accumulate more content and more listeners. To accomodate this we continue to build the network around your programs, growing as you do. A recent hardware order has been slightly delayed. This has caused a slight disruption in the archive process, which has in turn caused some of your accounts to go over quota. We apologize for the hassle and have in turn disabled quotas until we can get the new hardware configured and in place. Thanks for your patience, we expect to have quotas turned on and archiving back on a regular schedule by the weekend. Category: announcements -- posted at: 7:43 AM Comments[1] |
Fri, 14 July 2006 This morning, betweeen the hours of approximately 12:45am eastern to 1:45, Libsyn servers experienced a crucial distribution error on its CDN that resulted in the erroneous distribution of files on some user accounts. The problem has been identified and resolved, however during the time of the error period, affected user accounts may have had the wrong files distributed to subscriptions and direct downloads that called for files. We are extremely sorry for the confusion and surprise that this may cause the subset of audiences that have been affected by this unusual error. While this was a temporary and limited issue, it may have real unintended consequences to some individuals; we fully understand the magnitude of delivering the wrong file, even one mis-matched file is one too many. Update: Some further discussion and explanation can be found here: http://libsyn.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9643#9643 Category: announcements -- posted at: 2:00 AM Comments[2] |
Tue, 11 July 2006 Some of you have been reporting that there are files hanging around in your account which should have archived by now. We are addressing this issue by revisiting our archival mechanism, increasing the number of "sweeps" it makes through the system each day, which should make each archive run less intensive and lead to fewer problems. In the meantime, please let us know if you have a file that is supposed to be archived, but is not, by posting to this thread. Many of you have given us a heads up already, and we appreciate that. Mon, 3 July 2006 We have implemented support for the new iTunes categories. You should log into into your "settings" tab in the "itunes" section and make sure that your categories are properly set. We also now support the three category choices that iTunes allows. Note that feed validator has not yet adopted the new categories, so it may report your feed as invalid for iTunes until they update their application.
