We’ve rolled out a small but useful update to the Libsyn Web Player, for those using the ‘custom’ theme option the episode duration is now shown. There is nothing you need to do for this to take effect, you’ll see the duration automatically if there’s enough room for it based on the width of the player.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide reliable, fast service and to expand capacity to support continued growth we will be performing a significant upgrade of our backend database systems on October 12, 2018 from 1AM – 3AM EDT.
During this 2-hour maintenance window the Libsyn 4 platform will be put into maintenance mode for extended periods of time. When in maintenance mode you will be prevented from logging in to the Libsyn Dashboard so you won’t be able to edit or create new episodes, view stats, etc. Any episodes scheduled to be released during this time will not be released on time and will experience delays in being released. Stats processing will be paused during the entire 2-hour window.
Podcast page, RSS feed, web player and asset & media file delivery will be unaffected and will continue to function as normal during this maintenance.
Starting on October 3rd we began seeing reports of show listings suddenly showing no episodes in the Apple Podcasts directory listings for some shows. Apple is aware of the issue and their team is working to resolve it.
Please note this only affects the directory itself, it does not affect subscribers. Subscribing to a show subscribes to the RSS feed, so listeners will still have access to any and all content you have available in your RSS feed.

We recently launched a new status page that you can use to check the availability of our services. You can subscribe to get automatic notices of outages or planned maintenance. We also have a new @LibsynStatus Twitter account that you can follow.
Apple is experiencing login issues for some users with the Podcasts Connect site. This has resulted in people being unable to submit their podcast to iTunes/Apple Podcasts. This issue presents itself in two ways:
The first report we had of this issue was nearly two weeks ago. We have been in contact with Apple’s podcast support team and will update this post when we have new information. At this time no ETA on the resolution has been provided to us.
UPDATE: August 15, 9:30 PM EST
We have heard from Apple that the Podcasts Connect login issues should now be resolved. Anyone that was being affected should try to login now and please let us know if you are still having any issues.
There are some updates happening with regards to Facebook which may affect your Facebook Destination which we want to make you aware of.
Facebook, due to their renewed privacy push, has removed one of the permissions, called publish_actions effective August 1st, 2018. This permission was required for posting to personal profiles.
Here is what this means to you:
Due to the permissions changes, Libsyn’s Facebook destination will no longer be able to publish to personal profiles. Publishing to pages will continue to function normally.
If you have any errors publishing to Facebook, we recommend editing your Facebook destination to re-authenticate and approve the new permissions. You can do so by following these steps:

[9:30 AM EST] – Stats processing stopped ~9 hours ago due a failed process. This issue has now been resolved and stats processing is running normally again now. We will update this post as the system progresses through the backlog of data.
[12 PM EST] – Stats processing is about halfway through the backlog at this time. We will post one one more update when it’s fully caught up.
[5:15 PM EST] – Stats processing is now fully caught up and continues to run normally.
Spotify has started adding new shows to their system again! They have a backlog of about 2500 shows from us to get through and should be finished doing that by early next week. Once that is done things will be back to normal with new shows being added a few days after submission. Please remember to make sure to complete setup of the Spotify destination: https://support.libsyn.com/kb/spotify/ otherwise you show will not be submitted to them.
