Radio.com is a podcast directory offering web and mobile subscription and listening capability. Libsyn provides a direct submission from inside the dashboard to make your show available in their directory and applications.
Note: Currently, podcasts are only available on the Radio.com smartphone apps. Submitted shows are not available on the website. Also, Podcasts for Radio.com are currently only available in the United States.
To setup your show to automatically distribute to Radio.com, log into your Libsyn account and select Destinations –> Add New.
Hit Add for Radio in the list. The settings for the destination will open. If you have already configured your Libsyn RSS Feed, most of the fields on this page will already be filled in for you.
This field should include your name, the name of the company producing the podcast, or another appropriate name of the author of the show.
Language defaults to ‘en’ for English. However, if your show is based out of a different country or has an audience based in a different language, update this field to the two letter code for that language.
The directory is broken up by topic category. Listeners can filter podcast shows based on the topic they are interested in.
By default, the same summary/description you enter under Settings -> Show Settings will be used here as well. However, you can choose to use a specific summary which will be pulled only by Radio.com (other directories would then use the description from your Show Settings).
This is essentially your elevator pitch that will give potential subscribers an idea of what to expect for your show. Keep it short and on point.
This information is used by Radio.com themselves if they find the need to contact you. This information is publicly available in your RSS feed, so make sure that while the information is valid, it’s not an address you would rather be private.
While it is helpful to input the subtitle, it currently does not display in the Radio.com app.
The show type can be set here, or under Settings -> Show Settings. Your show is either episodic, or serial.
This field is no longer used by most directories. We have maintained the field for legacy purposes.
Episode (Item] Settings
This setting allows the system to override any images uploaded at the episode level and use the show level artwork instead for Radio.com.
Once you have configured your settings, Check the Approve Checkbox, and then save your changes. Your show should be available inside Radio.com’s directory within a few hours to a day.
