RadioPublic is a podcast directory offering web and mobile subscription and listening capability. Libsyn provides a direct submission from inside the dashboard to make your show available in their directory and applications.
In order to prepare your show for and then submit to RadioPublic, log into your Libsyn dashboard and select Destinations –> Add New.
Locate RadioPublic in the list and hit Add.
Next, some details need to be filled in for the show. Many of these items are already filled out in Show Settings and can be ignored, unless you wish to override those settings specifically for RadioPublic. We will explain each field below.
This title will carry over from your overall show title. If you are OK with that, leave this field blank. If you want a show title specifically to be used for RadioPublic, enter that title here.
The summary or description will also carry over from your overall settings from under Settings –> Show Settings. If you are OK with using that summary, leave this field blank. If you want a summary to be used specifically for RadioPublic, go ahead and enter a summary here. Please note this field is plain text only (no formatting, special characters, or emoji’s).
The teaser is displayed in the directory and app. It is a very short pitch for your show to your potential listener. It only accepts up to 140 characters, plain text (no formatting, special characters, or emoji’s).
Gateway Episodes and Greatest Hits
RadioPublic offers the ability to set up to 5 episodes as episodes to be listened to by the audience first (Gateway Episodes), and up to 5 episodes as Greatest Hits, episodes you want highlighted to your audience.
This is not a required field.
To set a Gateway Episode or a Greatest Hit, hit the Add Episode button.
Use the drop down arrow to select the episode you want to use.
You can set up to 3 categories, but the first category used is the category RadioPublic will primarily use.
The author should only contain the name or names of those directly associated with the show.
The contact email should be an address associated with the show and one that is fully accessible. This is a required field.
Contains Explicit Content
Set your show as clean, or as explicit.
Once you are ready, check the box for Approve. This checkbox, upon saving the destination, will approve the destination for submission to the RadioPublic directory.
Lastly, hit the Save button to save your changes and push through the submission. Your show will be live in RadioPublic within a day or two.
