When creating a new episode, an episode thumbnail can be uploaded. Your episode thumbnail follows Apple Podcasts specifications for artwork. Those specifications again are:
- 1400x1400px (minimum)
- 3000x3000px (maximum)
- Must be square
- Under 500kb
- Use rGB color space
- Be a JPG, JPEG, or a PNG file
If your episode images do not meet Apple Podcasts specification, similar to your show artwork, your feed may not update properly in the Apple Podcasts store.
This artwork can appear in Apple Podcasts search, or in podcast apps that support individual episode artwork. This artwork will populate your Libsyn generated RSS feed. It will also populate the Libsyn generated HTML5 media player (if you have the thumbnail enabled for the player).
If your show is being published to YouTube or Facebook, an image will be used in combination with your audio in order to generate a video which then gets uploaded to either of these services. As most videos are in a 16×9 format, a widescreen image can be used in order to ensure your video looks its best.
Recommended image size is 1920x1080px with at least a 72dpi.
