Changing Your Feed URL in Apple Podcasts

    Moving to Libsyn

If you already have an RSS feed with an active show setup in Apple Podcasts and are migrating to Libsyn, you will need to update the feed Apple Podcasts is pulling from so that they pull from your Libsyn feed. You will need a redirect on your old feed, and a new feed URL tag on your new feed.

Your first step is to contact the host for your old feed and have a 301 redirect setup that points your old feed to your new Libsyn feed.

    Next, follow these steps:

    –Log into your Dashboard

    –Select Destinations

    –Select Libsyn Classic Feed

–Scroll towards the bottom and select Advanced Options

–Enter the Apple Podcasts redirect tag in the Extra RSS Tags text box:

    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.myfeedurl.com/rss.xml</itunes:new-feed-url>

Replace “http://www.myfeedurl.com/rss.xml” with whatever the URL of the feed you will be using (Libsyn) is.

     Moving from Libsyn

While we would hate to see you go, the ability to change your feed URL in Apple Podcasts is important so we’ve made it easy. Just follow these steps:

    –Log into your Dashboard

    –Select Destinations

    –Select Libsyn Classic Feed

–Scroll towards the bottom and select Advanced Options

–Enter your new feed URL in the Redirect Feed to this Web Address text box

Next, contact your new host and have a new feed URL tag setup in that new feed:

    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.myfeedurl.com/rss.xml</itunes:new-feed-url>

The feed URL that should be entered in the new feed URL tag is your NEW feed (not your Libsyn feed). Replace “http://www.myfeedurl.com/rss.xml” with whatever the URL of the feed you will be using is.
